Kentucky Nonprofit Network announces its new slate of Board leadership

Kentucky Nonprofit Network (KNN), the state association of charitable nonprofits, announced the election of Tom Harris, APR, to its board of directors.

Harris brings more than 40 years of experience in communications and public affairs, including work in corporate communications, community affairs, political campaigns, higher education, media relations, employee communications, government relations, crisis management, philanthropy, and department and account management.

Harris recently retired as vice president for university relations at the University of Kentucky (UK), a role he held since 2002. Harris has worked in corporate communications, served as press secretary to the Kentucky lieutenant governor, and is currently a partner at Harris+Cornett Public Relations. He is active in the Lexington community and has participated in Leadership Lexington and Leadership Kentucky. He currently serves on the boards of Commerce Lexington, VisitLex, the Bluegrass Sports Commission, the Henry Clay Center for Statesmanship, and the 250Lex Commission.

Harris will join nonprofit advocates and leaders on the KNN board, including newly appointed officers: Chair Eileen O’Brien, an attorney with Osborne Family Law in Lexington; Vice Chair Mason Dyer, president of the Association of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities, based in Frankfort; Treasurer Marcey Ansley, executive director of The Hearing & Speech Center in Lexington; and Secretary Marian Guinn, President of MG Coaching & Consulting based in Lexington.
