Kentuckians raise $853,218 for nonprofits during KY Gives Day
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Yesterday, Kentuckians came together to support nonprofits across the Commonwealth during the 14th annual Kentucky Gives Day, raising $853,218 for a record-breaking 303 participating organizations through the statewide 24-hour giving event.
Hosted by Kentucky Nonprofit Network (KNN), Kentucky Gives Day encourages Kentuckians to support causes they care about while amplifying nonprofit missions through online giving and social media engagement. This year’s event featured expanded, sponsor-supported matching gift opportunities and cash prizes throughout the day, helping charitable nonprofits maximize donations and meet growing community needs.
Participating organizations ranged from healthcare providers and food banks to housing programs, youth activities, and arts organizations, reflecting the wide range of nonprofit services supporting Kentucky communities. In total, 3,817 donors made 4,995 gifts to participating nonprofits.
“As nonprofit organizations continue navigating funding uncertainty and rising demand for services, the generosity shown during Kentucky Gives Day is both inspiring and deeply meaningful,” said KNN CEO Danielle Clore. “Nonprofits touch every one of us in some way, every single day. They step in to meet critical needs, support local families, and strengthen communities—nonprofits get it done. And yesterday, Kentuckians got it done, coming together to support the organizations that show up for the Commonwealth every day. We are deeply grateful to every person who gave, shared, and championed nonprofit work throughout the day.”
Since Kentucky Gives Day’s debut, participating nonprofits have collectively raised more than $7.5 million, demonstrating the impact of a statewide effort to amplify nonprofit voices and strengthen charitable giving across Kentucky. Kentucky Gives Day 2026 was made possible through the support of Fidelity Charitable® Catalyst Fund, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Kentucky, Aetna Better Health of Kentucky, The LG&E and KU Foundation, AT&T, and Impressions Marketing, with media support from WHAS, WLAP, and Kentucky News Network. Regional partner Central Kentucky Community Foundation in Elizabethtown also provided support and prize incentives to nonprofits in its region.
