KNN Welcomes Aimee Jewell as New Director of Learning and Capacity

Kentucky Nonprofit Network (KNN), the Commonwealth’s association for charitable nonprofits, has named Aimee Jewell as its new Director of Learning and Capacity. In this role, Jewell will lead the design and delivery of high-impact learning experiences for nonprofit professionals across Kentucky—from executives and board leaders to staff and volunteers.
As Director of Learning and Capacity, Jewell will oversee KNN’s statewide learning strategy and program portfolio, developing trainings, workshops, and leadership programs that equip charitable nonprofits with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive. By connecting emerging sector needs with practical, actionable learning opportunities, she will help strengthen nonprofit organizations and advance their impact on communities across the Commonwealth.
Jewell brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, program development, and organizational capacity building to the role. Throughout her career, she has led strategic planning initiatives and directed nationally recognized leadership programs, including Ignite Louisville, Encore Louisville, and Focus Louisville. She has also partnered closely with nonprofit organizations to strengthen strategy, foster collaboration, and expand community impact across the region. Known for her ability to develop engaging learning experiences and cultivate effective leaders, Jewell brings a deep commitment to the nonprofit sector and a collaborative, forward-thinking approach to KNN.
“Kentucky nonprofits are navigating increasing demands that require strong leadership, strategic learning, and resources to support sustainability,” said KNN CEO Danielle Clore. “Aimee’s experience designing leadership programs, facilitating community partnerships, and equipping professionals with practical tools for impact makes her an exceptional addition to the KNN team. Her work leading programs at Leadership Louisville Center, overseeing nonprofit consulting initiatives, and creating engaging adult-learning experiences demonstrates both the vision and expertise needed to strengthen capacity across our sector. We are thrilled to welcome Aimee to KNN as another investment in the people and organizations working every day to build stronger Kentucky communities.”In addition to her professional leadership experience, Jewell has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to cultivating community engagement and women’s leadership. As Regional Leader of Lean In Louisville, she built and led a thriving professional network serving more than 1,000 constituents throughout Kentucky, coordinating local initiatives with the national Lean In organization, and mentoring emerging leaders. Her dedication to regional impact earned her recognition as a Louisville Business First 40 Under 40 honoree in 2022. Across all her endeavors, Jewell’s work reflects a deep passion for empowering individuals, fostering collaboration, and creating inclusive spaces for professional growth and civic leadership.
“Working alongside the staff at KNN to assist nonprofits as they build their capacity is an incredible opportunity,” said Jewell. “I am honored to have even a small impact on the organizations that help our communities thrive.”
As the state association of Kentucky charitable nonprofit organizations, KNN works to strengthen and advance the nonprofit sector because nonprofits are essential to vibrant communities.
