Largest Crowd Ever Attends 2011 Forum
Lots of news to share with you!
Last week’s 9th Annual KY Nonprofit Leadership Forum celebrated two well-deserved award recipients, connected a crowd of over 260 nonprofit leaders and provided two days of information-packed sessions. My sincere thanks to the exhibitors, presenters, sponsors, volunteers and nonprofit leaders attending for working with KNN to make this annual convening an important investment in a stronger nonprofit sector! If you missed the Forum, please check out the Forum site, including the video of our Fifth Third Bank Innovative Nonprofit Award recipient, Heartland CARES of Paducah. And please don’t miss out again – mark your calendar for next year’s Forum on October 24-25, 2012. It will be KNN’s 10th anniversary and an event you won’t want to miss!
KNN also proudly launched the new Kentucky Nonprofit Best Practices Partnership last week. Fourteen organizations have signed on as early-adopters – making the commitment to continuous improvement and achieving excellence. Check them out at www.kynonprofitpartners.org and consider becoming a partner.
Finally, on the public policy front, the Congressional “super committee” continues to deliberate about how to reduce federal spending by $1.5 trillion dollars. With talk that “everything is on the table,” nonprofits are watching closely and advocating for those we serve. Below you will find more information on these issues and an important letter to the committee circulated by National Council of Nonprofits.
We are doing our best, as always, to keep you up to date and encourage you to let your voice be heard! Be sure to register for tomorrow’s webinar on Lobbying Do’s and Don’ts and mark your calendar for Kentucky Nonprofit Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, February 8 – we are hoping for the largest showing of nonprofits at the Capitol, and we need YOU!
