One Week Until KY Gives Day 2025; Donations Portal Now Open

Published On: May 5, 2025

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky Gives Day returns for its 13th year on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The statewide 24-hour online giving event encourages nonprofit organizations across the Commonwealth to join forces to raise critical funds and rally support for their causes. Hosted by Kentucky Nonprofit Network (KNN), the state association of nonprofits, this event aims to inspire Kentuckians to donate to their favorite causes and use social media to help spread the word to maximize collective impact.

Though donations are already being accepted at www.kygives.org, the 24-hour online giving campaign running from midnight (ET) through 11:59 p.m. on May 13th will supercharge donations through matching gifts and cash prizes for a variety of fundraising challenges.

Representing a diverse array of causes including human services, healthcare, children’s welfare, the arts, humanitarian aid, animal welfare, and environmental conservation, the record 305 participating nonprofits are all registered 501(c)(3) organizations.

As nonprofit organizations grapple with an unclear picture of grants and other funding sources, nonprofits need more help this year than ever before. “Nonprofits impact every single Kentuckian in some way, every single day,” said Danielle Clore, CEO of Kentucky Nonprofit Network. “Kentucky Gives Day is a celebration of this impact and everyone can be a philanthropist. We ask Kentuckians to show these organizations a historic amount of love and support through donating and sharing on social media. Nonprofits serve me, you, and your community – this online giving celebration is an investment each of us can make in our Commonwealth.”

Donors can easily browse and support their favorite causes by visiting www.kygives.org, where they’ll find profiles of each participating nonprofit and real-time updates on fundraising progress. Throughout the day, updates will also be shared on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) using the hashtag #kygives25. Additionally, a heat map will illustrate the geographical spread of donor participation, adding a spirit of friendly competition among Kentucky counties.

Since Kentucky Gives Day’s debut, participating nonprofits have collectively raised more than $5.8 million. The event allows nonprofits to rally together, amplify their voices and secure critical support with the kind of visibility that only a statewide effort of this magnitude can generate.

Kentucky Gives Day 2025 is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Kentucky, LG&E and KU Foundation, Aetna Better Health of Kentucky, Impressions Marketing, and media partners WHAS, WLAP, and Kentucky News Network.
