Our Own Nonprofit Prom
Well, this is it. It’s kind of like a nonprofit prom, except there’ll be no awkward photos (we hope) and corsages are optional. It’s definitely a celebration and we all plan to look our best, but thankfully formal wear isn’t required and we don’t need a date.
Over 380 charities from across Kentucky have partnered with KNN, Inc. to participate in our firstKentucky Gives Day – and it’s tomorrow! If you’ve missed it,Kentucky Gives Day is an opportunity for Kentuckians from border to border to come together to show some love to the charities serving our communities. In just 24 hours, we’ll try to raise as much money as possible. Why?
- To see just how generous Kentucky can be. Imagine the amazing things that could happen if every Kentuckian logged on to www.kygives.org and made a donation to causes they care about?
- To help your favorite charities win prize money. Thanks to our generous KY Gives Day sponsors, KNN, Inc. will be offering overall prizes for the top fundraising charities as well as “golden tickets” throughout the day tomorrow, and these are additional opportunities for participating charities to raise needed dollars for their mission.
- To help participating charities take advantage of matching dollars. Many of the participating nonprofits have secured matching grants, so donations have twice the impact on Wednesday and that’s a very cool thing.
I don’t have to tell you how important charitable nonprofits are to Kentucky. So, even if your nonprofit isn’t participating in Kentucky Gives Day this year, there are plenty of great causes worthy of your support. I sincerely hope you will join me in logging on to give and give and give again. The Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Inc., Kentucky’s resource for the charities serving our communities, would be honored to accept your donation to support our mission and over 380 nonprofits would too. It’s going to be a historic day for our Commonwealth and you’ll want to be part of it!
So, please join me in getting your give on at this year’s nonprofit prom.
