Spooky Days Ahead

Published On: October 29, 2013

It’s almost Halloween, so I can’t help but have “trick or treating” on my mind.  Certainly this is because we are in full costume planning mode at my house, but it’s also because KNN was “treated” last week to celebrate our sector and three award recipients at the 11th Annual KY Nonprofit Leadership Forum – our largest Forum crowd ever!  If you missed it, check out the video featuring Greenhouse17 (formerly Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program), recipient of our Innovative Nonprofit Award and our photos on Flickr featuring Florence Tandy, our Distinguished Nonprofit Leadership Award recipient, and Lindy Karns, our Outstanding Board Leadership Award recipient, along with other snapshots.

“Tricks” are also on my mind as the impact of the first cuts of the sequester, the recent partial federal government shutdown and the next scheduled round of across the board spending cuts are certainly no holiday for the communities nonprofits serve.  KNN is collecting stories of impact, so please let us hear from you – your voice is important.

While there is much fun to be had around this time of year, there are very real threats facing our neighbors and our ability as a nonprofit community to serve them.  KNN is proud to roll up our sleeves to work alongside you to not lose sight of the important, critical tasks ahead and let our voices be heard.
